United Way of Greater New Bedford welcomes Poyant Signs to our Financial Wellness at Work program. A family-owned business, Poyant is an employer of choice and values their employee’s overall workplace satisfaction.
Financial Wellness at Work embeds trained United Way coordinators in the workplace to meet individually with employees to provide confidential coaching, year-long workshops, and access to resources to enable employees to make informed money decisions and take better control of their finances.
“At Poyant Signs, we believe that the success of our organization begins with the well-being of our team members. Partnering with United Way of Greater New Bedford’s Financial Wellness at Work program has given us a tangible way to support our employees' financial health and empower them to take control of their futures,” says Richard Poyant, President, Poyant Signs.
The program’s impact has been profound—not just at Poyant but across the community. To date, Financial Wellness at Work has served over 177 individuals, funded 61 small dollar loans, conducted 191 one-on-one meetings, and maintained over 312 points of contact via text, email, and phone with employees from six different companies. Even more significant, 100% of loan applicants have seen positive changes in their credit, some more than 300 points, transforming financial stress into progress and opportunity. This partnership has given employee access to resources and guidance, and it’s making a difference in their lives. “We’re proud to be part of such a meaningful initiative and look forward to continuing this journey of financial empowerment,” Poyant continued.
The Financial Wellness at Work program has a three-pronged approach:
- Personalized financial coaching to address employees’ unique needs, including crisis management, connecting to resources, and developing strategies for saving, budgeting, reducing debt, achieving financial goals, and more. A resource coordinator is on site weekly to meet with employees.
- Workshops that outline healthy financial habits and provide access to services that help families build wealth.
- Low-cost, small-dollar loans through Taunton Federal Credit Union to address short-term cash flow challenges and build a stronger credit rating.
Poyant Signs knows that financial security is a pivotal component of an individual’s overall well-being and Financial Wellness at Work is a valuable resource for employers as Poyant builds a strong and resilient workforce.
